Abstract

An archaeological mission from Roma Tre University,
led by Professor Luisa Musso in collaboration
with the Libyan Department of Antiquities,
has been studying the Silin region for
many years, featuring numerous ancient villa
settlements and agricultural infrastructure.
Since 1999, the Central Institute for Restoration
has participated with coastal surveys,
including underwater surveys, topographical
surveys, architectural documentation, and
site conservation status reports, following the
Risk Map model. Despite interruptions due to
the geopolitical situation and limited funding,
these activities have improved historical and
archaeological knowledge of the area. The articles
summarizes the work carried out under
the author's guidance between 1999 and 2010,
which should be considered today, taking into
account the long period that has passed since
then.
