Abstract

Since the early 2000s, various national and international projects have conducted a series of studies focusing on different complementary aspects, such as settlement, economics and the environment, to reveal the historical
and archaeological richness and complexity of the northern Adriatic's maritime landscapes.
The Adriatic Sea's seabed preserves striking traces of ancient history, telling the fruitful and continuous relationship between populations and this 'sea of intimacy', which has been a source of sustenance and a bridge to
other lands.
The author had the opportunity to coordinate or participate in some of these projects, conducting investigations in Istria and Dalmatia within the framework of fruitful institutional collaborations with Slovenian, Croatian,
Italian, and French partners.
