Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

Text submission

The submissions in digital format for sections not reviewed are preferably to be sent by e-mail at the following address

The submissions for sections Focus, Report and Guest Paper, should be sent by entering data and using the Open Journal Systems platform - for Authors, in order to facilitate the indexing.

 

Indicatively we recommend the following dimensions:

- FOCUS: within 20,000 characters;

- REPORT: between 5,000 and 12,000 characters;

- GUEST PAPER: within 25,000 characters;

- OTHER SECTIONS: between 2,000 and 4,000 characters.

The text of the article must be in the lines above limits. It should be accompanied by at least 5-6 images but, if the type of article requires it, may be admitted more. In the text, please avoid the use of bold and underline, we invite you to only use italics. Also are to be avoided quotes to single words or voices, replacing them if necessary, with italics format.

Bullets and numbering are not allowed and if really necessary it is advisable to reduce its use to a minimum.

 

Formats

DOC files are accepted from Microsoft Word or alternatively saved in RTF format (universal format generally accessible by any word processor) or ODT Open Document format.

Do not manually break up the words with a hyphen division or use automatic hyphenation.

Since the texts are subjected to automated procedures, please type correctly the white space characters:

- Between words a single space;

- Between words and punctuation (comma, period, etc.), No space;

- After punctuation (comma, period, etc.) a single space;

- After opening bracket and before the closing bracket no space;

- Apostrophe between word no spaces;

 

Do not use underlining or bold in the text and notes.

Uppercase and small caps should only be used where they are needed.

Format in bold paragraph titles.

 

Author

For the referring author is needed as following:

name, title, address, affiliation to any company or institution (if any), e-mail

In the case the number of the co-authors is greater than 5 you are required to indicate only a reference author with citation of others only at the bottom.

 

Title

Title of the proposed text must normally be 40-110 characters (change can be required for editorial reasons)

 

Subtitle

Expands the content of the title and introduces the reading of the following text. Normally it should be about 350-450 characters (change may be required for editorial reasons)

 

Paragraphs

Besides the title and the subtitle it is only permitted titles of paragraphs; any of sub-paragraphs titles must be replaced with the spacing of a line of text.

 

Notes

Footnotes are not permitted, unless they are not required for the effective understanding of the text.

 

Bibliography

A maximum number of 10 references per article is accepted.

The references will be listed according to a Harvard system.

References should be complete with all the basic elements as shown in the diagram below:

 

Surname N. (year of publication in parentheses) title in italics. Place of publication: Publisher.

Title / abbreviation of the periodical in italics of the periodical issue number (any number of the dossier in parentheses), pages without pp ..

Never use small caps or capital letters for last names and initials of the authors.

 

Abstract in English

It is required a 600-750 characters abstract in English.

 

Images

The images are necessarily to be provided in a manner suitable to the press with a resolution of 300 dpi (dots per inch), using the most common graphic formats (JPEG, TIFF, etc.). Dimensions at least equal in size to what should appear in. Only permissible exception are the screenshots for which please not to set change of dpi, they will be scaled by our graphic staff. Images must be placed in an external file, making sure that in the article the references to the images are clearly in evidence.

The images must be accompanied by captions, within the article text, next to the calls to the images.

Tables must be provided in Word or Excel format.

 

Keyword

A 4-5 keyword list, which will be used for indexing.

 

Drafts

There is a single review cycle of the drafts to be released and sent to the authors by e-mail.

 

Editorial changes

The editors reserve the right to make editorial changes that may be appropriate agreeing with the authors for those of greater importance

 

Charges for Authors

GEOmedia does not apply any charge for authors.
