Abstract

The Space Economy is undergoing rapid expansion, driven by advances in satellite miniaturisation, reusable launch systems, and increasing demand for high-resolution geo-spatial data. Within this evolving framework, Italy — supported by a consolidated industrial supply chain and the national IRIDE programme — is emerging as a key European contributor to Earth observation capabilities. The primary strategic challenge is no longer centred solely on technological advancement, but on the development of specialised human capital capable of converting satellite data into operational, decision-support services for public authorities, industry, and environmental risk management.

To address this requirement, the Second-Level Master’s Programme in Environmental Security and the IRIDE Constellation delivers advanced training in geospatial technologies, satellite Earth observation and geointelligence, enabling a new generation of professionals to support evidence-based territorial governance and environmental security.

La Space Economy è entrata in una fase di crescita esponenziale grazie alla miniaturizzazione satellitare, all’evoluzione dei lanciatori riutilizzabili e all’aumento della domanda di dati geospaziali.
